Basic Instructions:- To Begin a new chart, click "New" from the File menu. Select a GEDCOM file and click "Open"
- Next, type the name of the starting person (root) for the chart in the field at the bottom of the window.
- Select the Type of chart you want from the drop-down box on the top of the Options panel.
- Select the number of generations of ancestors and descendants you want that person to have on the chart.
- Change the chart dimensions by clicking on either the right or bottom edges of the chart and dragging (you can also change this with the controls on the right Options panel).
- The Style tab changes the fonts, minimum and maximum font sizes on the chart, and the color schemes used to color the people on the chart.
- The Advanced tab contains options specific to each type of chart.
- To navigate around to view the chart, use the tool panel at the top of the window
- The Hand Tool lets you drag the chart around to pan, you can right-click to zoom in and left-click to zoom out, also, you can use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out.
- The Zoom In tool lets you zoom in on the chart by clicking.
- The Zoom Out tool lets you zoom in on the chart by clicking.
- The Zoom To Fit tool lets you zoom to make the chart fit in the window.
- You can also type a zoom level in the Zoom box and press Enter to manually change the zoom.
- The two yardsticks give you a sense of how big the chart is. They can be turned off, along with the rulers in the View menu.
- When the chart is how you like it, press the "Click to Order" button to order a print of the chart. Click "Proceed to Checkout" to be taken to a secure web page to complete your order
